Open files in Fusion with no upload or lag from AirShop Inquiries. A quick walkthrough is on YouTube or send a message to try it yourself.
Fusion integration for faster quoting
The "Open in Fusion" feature bridges the gap between receiving an inquiry and starting your CAD work. Instead of downloading files, managing versions, and manually importing them into your workspace, AirShop handles the connection for you. This means you can go from viewing a customer's 3D model to editing it in Fusion in seconds, not minutes.
Supported file types
AirShop's integrated 3D viewer supports a wide range of formats including F3D, STEP, IGES, STL, and OBJ. You can view these files directly in your browser to quickly assess a job before even opening your CAD software.
When you're ready to start modeling, the Open in Fusion option appears for compatible CAD formats, allowing you to send the file to Fusion with a single click. This works for confirmed formats like F3D and STEP (.step, .stp) and typically for IGES, STL, and OBJ as well.
How it works
When a customer sends a 3D model with an inquiry, you can open it in Fusion without downloading first. Click Open in Fusion in the 3D viewer header or from the attachments menu. Two clicks. No upload. No lag.
Supported formats include F3D, STEP, IGES, STL, and OBJ. For the full list and setup details, see our Open in Fusion docs.
Requirements
You need Fusion installed, and your browser must allow the link to launch the app. If Fusion doesn't open, AirShop shows a dialog with retry and download options. Full troubleshooting steps are in the docs.
